Rogue River, Rockford MI, April 17th, 2016

Fished from the bridge downstream between 7-9:30 am Sunday morning.  It was a beautiful morning for some fly fishing and as a result, there were a number of other fishermen on the river as well.

Water wasn’t that high, indeed it is only a foot or so above mid-summer levels last year, so wading wasn’t a problem.

There are some steelhead remaining in the river, but only a couple were brought in all weekend.  The brown trout were biting though, it seems as though Rogue River browns cannot resist a nymph with a gold bead at any time of the year.

This guy was my nicest catch of the day and went back into the water immediately.
